Provincial Nominee Program

Each province and territory in Canada have its own Provincial Nomination Program (PNP). It enables the province to nominate or select the candidates that will accomplish and contribute to the economy of that province. The provinces have their own set of rules, guidelines, and procedures to select skilled immigrants and helps in settling in the province.

PNP’s are similar to the Skilled Immigration Program. The applicant is selected based on a point system that is meant to target specific individuals. Points are calculated on precise criteria like education, professional work experience, age and more.

The nominations issued under Express Entry get an additional 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System.

At present followings are the provinces and the territories participating in PNP.

How to apply in a Provincial Nominee Program?

Alberta Immigration Nominee Program (AINP) – The AINP consists of three streams, The Alberta Opportunity Stream, The Alberta Express Entry Stream, The Self-Employed Farmer Stream. The province shall issue the invitation to the desired candidates who meet the requirement and show interest in encouraging the economy.

British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) – The BCPNP comprises of Skill Immigration, Express Entry BC, Entrepreneur Immigration Stream. Each of these categories is further divided that will help skilled workers, international students, and professionals to immigrate in BC.

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) – The MPNP streams are designed for the skilled workers and the families who aspire to settle down in the province. The additional benefit of 200 points is gained if you have a close relative in Manitoba.

Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program (SINP) – The Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program is accepting applications via multiple pathways. It includes International Skilled Worker, Express Entry, and Occupation in Demand category. If you have a close relative residing in Saskatchewan on a PR status, then you get the addition of 20 points.

New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) – The NBPNP is a New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program under which it targets the entrepreneurs, skilled workers with employment support, international graduates, and Express Entry.
