Job Offer/LMIA

For years people have been cheated in the name of work permit in Canada. While it’s possible to get Canadian work permit, it’s not all that easy. One requires job offer from qualified Canadian employer. Also, this job offer has to be validated (LMIA) by Service Canada.

What’s LMIA?

Labour Market Impact Assessment   (LMIA) is a document that employers in Canada may need to get before hiring a foreign worker. A positive LMIA will show that there is a need for a foreign worker to fill the job. It will also show that no Canadian worker is available to do the job. A positive LMIA is sometimes called a confirmation letter. LMIA is valid for six months. LMIA (NOC O-O, A, B) can be utilized in Express Entry or PNP to improve your score for PR invitation.

  • To assess impact on labour market employers need to publish vacancies and conduct interviews which are very costly.
  • LMIA is valid for six months
  • LMIA can be dual or single intent

Only qualified employers can apply for LMIA
